Conservation biology, habitat ecology & population ecology. I am concerned with the connection between land use and wildlife habitat, and how this interaction affects wildlife populations. Conservation issues are of particular interest to me, and the problem-solving approaches I use include habitat selection analysis, population viability analysis, and GIS. I also enjoy thinking about how behavior, such as territoriality or dispersal movement, shapes habitat selection.

I like clouds, clear lakes, turtles, bird nests, frozen eyelashes, sastrugi, free-heeling in powder snow, and reeling in a #00 Mepps by an undercut bank.
